Swiss retailer Manor begins selling Bitcoin vouchers

A major Swiss retailer Manor has begun selling digital gold in the form of vouchers in 59 stores. This was reported by Tages-Аnzeiger.

From April 1, retail giants Valora and Avec Shops will begin selling Cryptonow gift cards in partnership with Swiss payment provider Värdex Suisse AG.

Cryptonow Bitcoin cards are available in three versions. Two of them are denominated at 100 and 500 Swiss francs ($107 and $537 at the time of writing). The third allows the balance to be set by the user—from 50 to 500 Swiss francs.

Cryptonow holders can redeem them at an exchange point or sell the first cryptocurrency through one of Värdex’s 70 Bitcoin ATMs.

In 2019, the postal service of the Principality of Liechtenstein began selling bitcoins through its branches thanks to a partnership with Värdex.

In January 2020, the authorities of the small Swiss town of Zermatt allowed residents to pay taxes using the first cryptocurrency.
