What is the Dash cryptocurrency and how does it work?
Dash is an open-source peer-to-peer payment system with its own unit of account. Launched on January 18, 2014 by American programmer Evan Duffield as Xcoin, it was later renamed Darkcoin (2014) and DASH (2015). A bug during the fork led to an instamine of 1.8m DASH. The network features masternodes, PrivateSend, InstantSend, a block-reward split with 10% to a development fund, and voting on dash.org. The article is outdated and requires updating.
