Telegram Enhances Video Uploads and Permits Bot Advertising

Telegram developers have introduced faster video uploads and improved video quality in a new update, along with several other features. This was announced by the messaging app’s founder, Pavel Durov.

Telegram servers now compress videos into multiple quality options and optimize them for streaming, automatically selecting the most suitable resolution based on the user’s connection speed.

According to Durov, the messenger is taking “the first step towards becoming a video platform.”

Additionally, the team has enabled the placement of advertisements in bots and mini-applications, allowing them to receive a share of revenue from official advertising.

Other updates include:

Earlier in October, Durov announced the conversion of a limited number of gifts into NFTs on the TON blockchain. Users will be able to trade them outside of Telegram.
