Telegram to Integrate Grok Across Its Services
Telegram and Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI have entered a one-year partnership to distribute the Grok chatbot among the messaging app’s users and integrate it “into all applications.” This was announced by Telegram CEO Pavel Durov.
“This summer, Telegram users will gain access to the best AI technology on the market,” he stated.
Under the agreement, Durov’s company will receive $300 million in cash and stock from xAI, as well as 50% of the revenue from all subscriptions sold by the AI startup through the messenger.
In March, a bot for Grok with the username @GrokAI appeared on Telegram. According to a video presented by Durov, the new integration goes beyond a simple bot and involves many of the messenger’s functions. Users will be able to:
- ask questions directly in the search bar;
- receive a brief summary of key information from a chat or document;
- appoint Grok as a moderator;
- conduct fact-checking using AI;
- generate stickers, images, and avatars.
the deal has not yet been signed, Musk reported. Durov confirmed this, noting that the terms are agreed upon, but formalities need to be finalized.

Back in late May, media learned of Telegram’s plans to raise $1.5 billion in bonds.
