Temenos’ services are used by more than 3,000 institutional clients. Through the company’s platform they gained access to three Taurus products:
- Taurus-CAPITAL, designed for creating tokenised securities and managing them;
- Taurus-PROTECT, the custody service offering hot and cold storage of digital assets;
- Taurus-EXPLORER — a set of APIs enabling connections to more than 10 blockchains.
“Depending on the business model and regulatory framework, banks will be able to create, manage and service a wide range of tokenised assets, using the functional capabilities of Taurus-CAPITAL and Taurus-PROTECT,” Temenos added.
Earlier, tokenised securities in Switzerland gained the same legal status as traditional ones.
In April 2021, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) granted Taurus a licence to deal with securities. After that the startup announced the launch of the regulated digital exchange, TDX.
Earlier in February, the Crypto Finance AG group’s subsidiary obtained a broker-dealer licence from FINMA.
