TeraWulf to Spend $53.4 Million on 18,500 Bitcoin Miners

American mining company TeraWulf announced the purchase of 18,500 Bitcoin miners Antminer S19j XP from Bitmain.

Data: Twitter.

With the new devices, the company’s deployable hashrate by year end will rise by 58% to 7.9 EH/s.

“In combination with the achieved average electricity cost of 3.5 cents and an average availability above 98%, we are not just increasing our hashrate thanks to this order, but also positioning TeraWulf to increase profits ahead of the next halving,” — noted by company representatives.

Delivery will occur in equal installments — in October, November and December. The equipment will be installed at the Lake Mariner data center in New York.

Earlier, TeraWulf tapped the power capacity of the Susquehanna nuclear generating station in Pennsylvania for Bitcoin mining.
