Tesla helped patch a bug in BTCPay’s bitcoin processing

Tesla flagged a vulnerability in the BTCPay Server processing service’s code. The developers issued a security update and thanked Tesla for its assistance.

BTCPay founder Nicolas Doré told Coindesk that Tesla contacted the developers after auditing the code. The service representatives fixed the bugs and are now working with the electric-vehicle maker’s staff to improve security.

The developers noted that they are not aware of Tesla using BTCPay servers.

BTCPay says it will disclose further details about the issues with the next major client release.

On March 24, Elon Musk announced the start of sale of Tesla electric cars for bitcoin in the United States. He emphasised that the company runs its own nodes.

On February 8, Tesla disclosed that invested $1.5 billion in bitcoin, after which the asset’s price began to rise sharply.
