Tether Acquires Stake in Juventus Football Club

Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has acquired a minority stake in the Italian football club Juventus.

“Make Juventus great again,” wrote the company’s executive Paolo Ardoino.

This move is part of Tether’s broader strategy to integrate digital assets “into everyday life,” according to a press release.

“We will explore opportunities for innovative collaborations and the potential to transform the global sports landscape,” wrote the head of Tether.

Among Juventus’ partners are:

• German sportswear manufacturer Adidas;
• insurance firm Allianz;
• European crypto investment platform zondacrypto.

At the end of 2019, the football club issued fan tokens in partnership with the blockchain platform Socios.com.

Back in 2024, Tether reported a record $13 billion in net profit.
