Tether announced the launch of the USDT stablecoin on the Polygon layer-2 network.
According to Alchemy, as of April 2022 Polygon hosts more than 19,000 decentralized applications — six times more than in October.
“This year the Polygon ecosystem has shown historic growth, and we believe that Tether will play an important role in its continued prosperity,” said Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino.
In addition to Polygon, USDT is available on Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Algorand, Tron, Omni, EOS, the Liquid Network, Kusama and the Standard Ledger protocol from Bitcoin Cash.
At the time of writing, the market supply of USDT has reached $72.5 billion.
Back in May, Tether launched the ‘stablecoin’ MXNT pegged to the Mexican peso. At the time, the company said the asset would be available on Ethereum, Tron and Polygon networks.
