The company Tether, in collaboration with Canaan and ACME Swisstech, has introduced a modular infrastructure for mining. This new solution allows for the assembly of systems from individual components rather than using pre-built devices.
The development is based on Avalon hash boards from Canaan. Tether’s engineers have integrated them into their own management architecture and cooling system.
The modular approach allows for:
- optimizing heat dissipation and energy consumption;
- upgrading individual parts without replacing the entire device;
- scaling farms according to operational conditions.
The system is adapted for immersion cooling: according to Tether representatives, this reduces costs and enhances efficiency at large industrial sites.
Tether’s head, Paolo Ardoino, noted that traditional miners remain “closed” and fixed blocks, complicating maintenance and scaling. The new concept provides direct control over power at any scale of equipment fleet.
The project continues Tether’s strategy of developing its own infrastructure. Previously, the company released the Mining OS operating system and SDK development tools for managing mining hardware.
In April, Tether announced the launch of the non-custodial wallet tether.wallet, which supports the stablecoins USDT, USAT, and XAUT, as well as Bitcoin.
