Tezos is preparing the Edo upgrade. Implementing Zcash’s Sapling library will allow concealing cryptocurrency transactions, according to a joint statement by the developers Nomadic Labs, Marigold and Metastate.

“No other major smart-contract platform today supports such functionality. As Tezos is upgradeable, we can add these capabilities directly into the blockchain,” the publication says.

The developers see potential applications for the Electric Coin Company’s Sapling library in smart contracts and privacy-focused applications.

Another notable component of Edo is the ticketing system. It is a “convenient mechanism for smart contracts that grants permissions to other smart contracts or issues tokens.” Tickets are intended to significantly streamline work for external developers.
