The Federation Council says it is studying cryptocurrencies

The Federation Council is analysing cryptocurrencies on the financial market and intends in the future “seriously tackle this issue,” said Elena Perminova, the first deputy chair of the Federation Council committee on budget and financial markets. This is reported by URA.RU.

According to her, there is a chance that crypto assets have a future, but due to high volatility they cannot yet be considered official currencies.

«Cryptocurrencies today are like on a swing — up and down. Probably they have a future; probably something will come of them. But I do not yet see them as an official currency in the state’s calculations,” Perminova said.

Earlier, Daniil Yegorov, head of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation, said there is active study of the cryptocurrency market.
