The Graph founders announce integration with NEAR Protocol

The Graph Foundation team, behind the decentralised data-indexing protocol, has begun testing the service on the NEAR Protocol network.

β€œThe Graph has expanded beyond EVM thanks to NEAR Protocol support,” the developers said.

According to them, the service is now operating on a network that is not compatible with the Ethereum blockchain.

Representatives of NEAR Protocol noted that the integration will allow creating public APIs (subgraphs) on the network β€” this will give Web3 infrastructure the ability to support even more decentralised applications.

Tegan Klein, co-founder of Edge & Node and The Graph, in a comment to CoinDesk said that the Graph Foundation would continue to offer grants to expand the service.

In December 2020, the creators of The Graph announced the launch of a decentralised data-indexing protocol on the Ethereum mainnet. They described their development as the Internet without Google.

In late October 2021, NEAR Protocol established a fund of $800 million to finance developers and individual projects in the ecosystem through grants.
