As of writing, seven hours remained until the end of the auction on the marketplace Foundation. The highest bid was 21 ETH (about $33,600 at the time of writing). The author of the NFT plans to donate the proceeds to charity.

Roose tweeted that he stepped out for dinner, and in the meantime someone bid more for the NFT than his car was worth.

TIME put up for auction three of its own provocative covers as NFTs.

Earlier, Elon Musk released a techno track about NFTs in NFT form and promised to put it up for sale, but backed out. His tweet with the song was posted on the Valuables marketplace. As of writing, the highest bid stood at $1.1 million.
