The crypto exchange Binance will conduct a token sale of The Sandbox project on Launchpad. The sale of SAND tokens will start on 13 August 2020. This is reported on the exchange’s official website.

Owners of the utility token SAND will be able to sell and buy items in The Sandbox’s gaming universe. In addition, token holders will be able to participate in governance of the platform through decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) mechanisms.

The Sandbox is built on the Ethereum blockchain and includes three main products:

- VoxEdit — editor for creating in-game items: characters, weapons, tools. These digital assets are represented as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with unique properties;
- a decentralised marketplace for selling and buying in-game items;
- the Game Maker developer service, which helps create 3D games without programming skills.

“Imagine a gaming world where everything you create and earn truly belongs to you. This is possible in The Sandbox’s gaming metaverse. Here you can sell and gift content without copyright issues,” said Sebastien Borget, CEO and co-founder of The Sandbox.

The token sale on Binance Launchpad will begin on 13 August. The Sandbox will place 360 million SAND at a price of $0.008333. To purchase, Binance Coin (BNB) tokens will be required.

Earlier in August, Binance launched a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports tournament with a prize pool of $1,800.
