Tim Draper’s Twitter account, the venture capitalist and billionaire, was hacked, resulting in a post about Bitcoin Cash being published in his name. Cointelegraph reports.
Can confirm his account was compromised and he deleted the tweet as soon as he was aware. https://t.co/7o6ZGwLLL6

OpenNode co-founder Joao Almeida confirmed the hack:
“I contacted his team. He deleted the tweet as soon as he learned of it,” Almeida wrote on Twitter.
Earlier on September 4, a tweet appeared on Draper’s account claiming that he had acquired Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and thanking Roger Ver for the “innovation”.
Although Draper tagged a fake Roger Ver account, a BCH supporter thanked him for the mention.
Thank you Tim.
Bitcoin was always meant to be cash. https://t.co/InMNsibsF2— Roger Ver (@rogerkver) September 4, 2020
As Draper is an active Bitcoin advocate, several members of the community suspected that the investor’s account may have been compromised.
The tweet by @TimDraper supporting BCash has been deleted. Maybe it was a hack after all? Probably just a clueless or paid tweet that backfired. pic.twitter.com/MRa3kw07NV

“Could this be a hack after all?” wrote Whale Panda.
With Draper himself having made no comment on the appearance of the tweet, some users did not rule out that it was a paid post that went awry:
Paid tweet backfired.
He’s been paid many times to be an “advisor” for many scam projects in the past.

“In the past, he has been paid many times to be a “consultant” for fraudulent projects,” Crypto Whale noted.
In June, Tim Draper said that having a portfolio with a large variety of cryptocurrencies allowed him not only to avoid losing his funds during the crisis but also to grow asset values.
