On 21 December, the NFT marketplace TON Diamonds completed two record-breaking auctions. ForkLog confirmed the information with representatives of the platform.
Two non-fungible tokens from the Annihilation collection — the stones Hida and Pearly — were sold for 10,000 TON and 9,860 TON (together more than $50,000), respectively.
The collection was created by a Saint Petersburg-based artist, Ellen Shaydlin, who works in the style of survirtualism.
“Such large sales demonstrate the development of TON NFT and the interest of collectors and the community in artists’ works. For TON and the TON Diamonds marketplace, this is evidence of a sound development vision,” said Vladimir Mahov, founder of TON Diamonds, in a ForkLog interview.
As of now, the marketplace’s cumulative turnover stands at over 1,000,000 TON. The development team continues to develop the platform and in the coming days will launch an NFT collection by Pokras Lampas.
The Open Network’s press service told ForkLog that the choice of the TON blockchain for creating NFT collections confirms its “multifunctionality, speed and resilience.”
“The new record for NFT sales on TON draws attention to the project as a whole; users are beginning to delve deeper into the project and use products built on TON. All of this undoubtedly leads to ecosystem growth and the development of the blockchain,” they added.
The TON Diamonds NFT marketplace is an independent platform and has no relation to the Telegram messenger.
In December, Telegram launched sales of anonymous numbers on the Fragment auction on the TON blockchain.
In November, Telegram username sales for Toncoin began on the platform.
