Tornado Cash to integrate Arbitrum Layer-2 solution
The Tornado Cash team said it is ready for integration with Arbitrum One, a Layer-2 network.
“All of the protocol’s smart contracts are configured and ready to launch on Arbitrum. They simply need the community’s help to be deployed and to fly on their own wings,” the statement said.
The Tornado Cash team noted that the integration will provide users all the benefits Layer-2 solutions, including cheaper transactions.
According to L2 Fees, transaction fees on Arbitrum One run at around 30% of Ethereum network fees.
“This proposal is part of the protocol’s ongoing push to improve and allow more users to exercise their right to privacy. Moreover, with this deployment Tornado Cash will join a thriving ecosystem comprising numerous other DeFi applications,” added the mixer team.
The decision to support the recently launched network in Tornado Cash was explained by its popularity. According to L2 Beat, the protocol’s total value locked (TVL) is $2.6 billion. It dominates the L2 space in this metric, with a 38.8% share.
DeFi Llama DeFi Llama puts Arbitrum One TVL at $2.04 billion, ranking the protocol ninth among all blockchains.
Arbitrum One uses Optimistic Rollups.
In November, Arbitrum One integrated the Binance Bitcoin exchange.
