Trader Tattoos Meme Token Contract Address, Faces Typo

A user on X, known as Hop, has tattooed the address of the meme token Gigachad (GIGA) based on Solana.

He claimed that this coin has completely changed his life “mentally, spiritually, and of course, financially.”

The post sparked a flurry of discussions and jokes, yet some users pointed out a mistake in the address.

“Is [the design] deliberately different from the address you posted above, or is it a mistake by the tattoo artist?” the investor was asked.

The “body art” version includes an extra “U” near the end of the address.

In a conversation with Decrypt, the trader said he is not upset about the typo. He has already asked his artist to think of a way to fix the error.

“I’m not angry because I would have to explain what it means to ordinary people anyway. No random person will know it’s a typo unless I tell them,” he explained.

Meanwhile, a user under the pseudonym bvan tattooed the coin’s ticker — “$GIGA”.

The meme token itself has been around since early 2024. At the end of June, the coin showed a sharp rise, which continues to this day.

Over the month, GIGA increased by 890%, and its capitalization reached $167 million, according to CoinGecko.

Before the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, Galaxy Digital founder Mike Novogratz tattooed the LUNA ticker, which he later regretted. The businessman admitted it would serve as a permanent reminder of “humility” in venture investing.
