The event will host 220 TRUMP investors, with the top 25 meeting the head of state personally and receiving a “VIP tour of the White House.” Participants can increase their chances of an invitation by holding as many coins as possible from April 23 to May 12. The dinner is scheduled for May 22 at Trump’s private golf club in Washington.
In the day following the announcement, nearly 10,000 wallets conducted transactions with the meme coin—three times more than the previous day.
Transaction volume in TRUMP surged to ~$2.4 billion.
The activity was dominated by addresses with balances of less than $100,000 in the meme token.
“Typically, about 46% of active wallets transfer TRUMP in amounts less than $10,000, but after the announcement, this figure jumped to 75%. Most of the surge was due to very small transactions (less than $1,000), which accounted for 47.2% of active addresses,” Kaiko clarified.
The daily trading volume of TRUMP on centralized exchanges recorded its highest level since mid-February. The “presidential” meme coin accounted for nearly 50% of the total turnover in the segment.
“Since then, volumes have declined as the euphoria has waned, along with network activity. However, based on the contest rules, we can expect a revival in the coming weeks,” experts noted.
TRUMP’s price surged from $9 to $14.5 within a day of the dinner announcement. At its local peak on April 26, the rate reached $16, but at the time of writing, it had corrected to around $14 (CoinGecko).
Over the past seven days, the meme coin’s price has risen nearly 70%, yet the asset trades 80% below its all-time high of $73.4.
In the Senate, the Trump gala dinner for TRUMP holders was called “an excess of any previous standards for impeachment.”
