According to co-founder Drew Armstrong, Trump paid $998.7 for several dozen burgers. He used the Strike payment app, based on the Lightning Network. The bar utilized the Zaprite service for payment processing.
“A former president, a potential future president, this is a real coming of age for the Bitcoin community,” commented another PubKey co-founder, Thomas Pacchia.
He added that this was Trump’s first use of Bitcoin for purchasing goods or services. Afterward, he distributed the burgers to bar patrons.
