“We regret that only the use of technical measures to compel compliance with Russian laws forced the American social network to acknowledge the existence of information that is an absolute evil in all countries of the world and to take steps to remove it,” Roskomnadzor said.
The agency said that the pace of removing prohibited content was unsatisfactory.
Earlier, Roskomnadzor began to slow Twitter’s operation in Russia due to the social network’s refusal to delete content that the agency deemed illegal, since March 10.
Later, the agency said about the possibility of a complete blocking of the service in Russia, if Twitter does not delete banned information within a month.
