Twitter imposes post-viewing limits for all users
New Twitter users can view 300 tweets per day, older users 600, and Twitter Blue subscribers 6,000. The owner of the social network, Elon Musk, disclosed the changes.

Musk announced that the limits have been increased to 500, 1,000 and 10,000 tweets per day, respectively.
According to the billionaire, the decision is “temporary” and linked to the “extreme level” of data parsing and system manipulation. No timeline for lifting the restrictions was provided.
Musk announced a one-third increase in the limits in the near term:
- 8000 — for Twitter Blue;
- 800 — for existing users;
- 400 — for new users.
On June 30, Twitter barred viewing content without registration. Users are invited to log in or sign up.
In April 2022, Musk became the largest shareholder of Twitter after acquiring 9.2% of the shares for $2.89 billion. Later he proposed to buy the social network for $43 billion, to create an “inclusive arena for free speech.”
The deal worth $44 billion was closed in October. The company’s former CEO Parag Agrawal and CFO Ned Sigal left the company’s headquarters.
As reported in May 2023, Musk announced that he found a replacement for the CEO position at Twitter. The new CEO is Linda Yaccarino, former head of NBCUniversal’s advertising department.
