
Two Sigma Ventures raises over $400 million across two funds
The venture firm Two Sigma Ventures, specializing in investments in cryptocurrency and DeFi companies, raised over $400 million across two funds.
Eighty-five percent of the amount came from external investors, including colleges, non-profit and pension funds. The remaining 15% came from senior staff and partners of the parent company of the unit – Two Sigma.
The total assets under management by Two Sigma Ventures currently amount to $1.8 billion.
The funding will be directed to companies working on technology and data for social impact.
Two Sigma Ventures also invests in startups focused on financial technology and the development of software as a service.
According to official information, Two Sigma manages assets worth more than $60 billion.
Earlier, ForkLog reported that the infrastructure blockchain platform Alchemy filed an application with the SEC to launch a venture fund of $12 million.
