Uber to Consider Accepting Bitcoin Payments
CEO Uber Dara Khosrowshahi told CNBC that the company would begin accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies if it identifies a need and benefits.
«Just like we accept all kinds of local currency we are going to look at cryptocurrency and or #bitcoin in terms of currency to transact. That’s good for business, that’s good for our riders and our eaters,» says @dkhos. «We are just not going to do it as part of a promotion.» pic.twitter.com/2OSamy3yBV

Just as we accept various local currencies, we will consider cryptocurrencies and/or Bitcoin as a means of payment. That is good for business, that is good for riders and for users of the food-delivery service.
Khosrowshahi stressed that Uber is not considering holding a portion of its reserves in the first cryptocurrency.
We intend to keep money safe. We are not involved in speculation,
Uber has been a member of the Libra association since 2019 (now — Diem).

In January 2021, it was announced that SkyBridge Capital launched a bitcoin fund with assets of $310 million.
