In the updated draft, virtual assets are now treated as intangible property.
“The definitions and classifications of virtual assets have been refined, and some definitions of service providers have been changed,” said Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Alexander Bornyakov.
He also expressed hope that the bill would be approved by the end of the current year.
The draft was refined to reflect regulators’ and market participants’ wishes, according to a statement from the Ministry of Digital Transformation’s press service.
Earlier, the previous version of the document was presented in June.
Earlier in September, the Verkhovna Rada also introduced a draft law that regulates the mechanism for seizing cryptocurrency obtained through illicit activity.
