Ukraine to attract foreign blockchain specialists

Blockchain specialists have been placed in the category of highly skilled workers, with demand for them in Ukraine’s economy to be met through immigration. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Alexander Bornyakov.

Foreign specialists will be able to live and work freely in Ukraine for ten years.

“For Ukrainian IT companies, this is an opportunity to strengthen their teams with highly qualified specialists,” noted Bornyakov.

In 2021 Ukraine will issue 50 quotas. The list of required documents for applications is available on the ministry’s site.

“I hope that soon foreign blockchain developers will come to Ukraine not only by invitation from companies, but because we will have one of the best environments for developing crypto business in the world,” added the deputy minister.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation will issue the order introducing immigration quotas in the near future.

Blockchain is included in the strategy for developing Ukraine’s financial sector through 2025.

In 2018, Ukraine was named one of the world leaders in implementing distributed ledger technology, according to Canadian entrepreneur and blockchain expert Don Tapscott.
