The Ukrainian entrepreneur Sergey Tron’s White Rock Management announced the opening of a mining data centre with a capacity of over 100 MW in Kazakhstan.
The company has reportedly already purchased more than 20,000 miners for over $200 million from Bitmain.
In a statement, White Rock Management noted that Kazakhstan attracts investors with a convenient geographic location and the lowest electricity tariffs among all countries.
The company also plans to open data centres in Sweden, North America and Ukraine.
Earlier this year, many mining industry players turned their attention to Kazakhstan. Data centres in the country are set to be opened by BIT Mining Limited and Wattum Management in partnership with Enegix, while Canaan has already launched its first own Bitcoin mining operation in Kazakhstan.
Recently local authorities introduced an additional mining levy. Experts say that this decision should not significantly affect market development.
