In Ukraine, a minibus driver promised to transport men of conscription age to Moldova in exchange for a cryptocurrency payment, according to local media.
The vehicle was stopped near the village of Velyka Mykhailivka in the Odesa region. It contained four conscripts from the Kyiv and Poltava regions.
The driver requested between $2000 and $5000 in an unspecified cryptocurrency to bypass checkpoints, sharing the profits with an accomplice.
Back in November 2023, employees of the NABU documented the first attempt to bribe an official with bitcoin.
