Ukrainian Forced to Transfer 250,000 USDT in Thailand

A 23-year-old Ukrainian, Vyacheslav Leibov, fell victim to an armed assault on the island of Phuket, Thailand. The assailants were interested in the victim’s cryptocurrency, according to local media.

On the evening of November 8, Leibov visited a hotel room belonging to his friend, 18-year-old Alfred Chernyshuk. Also present in the room was 21-year-old Arman Grigoryan.

Later, Leibov went to the bathroom, where he was ambushed by two masked individuals. They tied him up and, threatening with a knife and hammer, demanded 500,000 USDT. The victim managed to negotiate and reduce the ransom by half.

After the transfer, the gang tied him to the bed and left the hotel.

Leibov managed to free himself. At the hotel reception, he learned that the room had been rented by Chernyshuk and Grigoryan.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Earlier, ForkLog reported that unknown individuals kidnapped Dean Skurka, CEO of the Canadian cryptocurrency company WonderFi, and demanded $1 million.
