
Ukrainian MPs declare cryptocurrency holdings worth billions of hryvnias
A number of Verkhovna Rada deputies disclosed crypto holdings in their 2020 declarations.
In terms of cryptocurrency holdings, Anatoliy Urbansky leads. As in the 2019 declaration, he listed 4256 BTC and 4256 Bitcoin Cash. At the time of writing, this sum was equivalent to almost 7 billion hryvnias or $252 million.
Geo Lerosa’s cryptocurrency holdings also remained unchanged since 2019, according to the declaration — he owns 49 BTC ($2.8 million) and 356 ETH (over $751,000).
Deputy Vasyl Mokhan’s declaration lists a variety of assets — in addition to Bitcoin and Ethereum, he owns Litecoin, as well as XRP and NXT tokens.
People’s deputy Serhiy Velmozhnyi declared 11,428 XMR (over $3 million) belonging to his son. The fact of cryptocurrency ownership by family members was recorded in declarations by several other deputies, including Dmitry Gurin, Yuriy Kamelychuk and Inna Sovsun.
Among the deputies who disclosed cryptocurrency in their declarations are also Oleksiy Ustenko, Oleksandr Gaydu, Yegor Chernev, Oleksandr Marikovsky and others.
Earlier, the income of Verkhovna Rada deputy Kira Rudik from selling cryptocurrencies more than doubled her salary.
