Ukrainian resident suspected of stealing cryptocurrency from a trading platform

Kherson police conducted a search of a local resident suspected of stealing cryptocurrency.

According to the National Police site, the man gained unauthorized access to one of the websites specialising in trading cryptocurrencies. Subsequently, he cashed out the stolen funds.

As a result of the search, police seized computer equipment from the suspect.

The extent of the damage is being determined. Law enforcement opened a criminal case; the Kherson resident faces up to three years in prison.

The Mykolaiv resident, who created a site for exchanging electronic money and cryptocurrencies, was accused of illicit operations through payment systems banned in Ukraine.
