In January, participants DAO of the decentralized exchange supported the use of Wormhole in light of the launch of the protocol on BNB Chain. The proposal faced serious objections, and the vote in the Uniswap Foundation was described as controversial.
In March, the organisation responsible for developing the platform’s ecosystem established a committee to analyse cross‑chain solutions and propose options for further action.
“The committee believes that bridges Wormhole and Axelar are currently suitable for use by the DAO to govern governance messages in future cross-network deployments, but it recommends the community continually analyse them and other providers,” the committee’s conclusions say.
Among the cross‑chain solutions considered by the committee were LayerZero, Celer, DeBridge, and Multichain.
In its members’ view, the optimal option is to use multiple bridges. However such protocols are in their infancy and not sufficiently reliable.
The Uniswap Foundation committee has developed criteria for further evaluation of cross‑chain solutions suitable for deployment. The list of structures for study is planned to be expanded beyond the six considered.
In April, the Uniswap DAO approved the integration of the Polygon zkEVM protocol based on ZK-Rollup technology.
In May, the community proposed deploying Uniswap v3 on Layer-2 networks Base from Coinbase.
