Uniswap trading volume exceeded $454 billion for the year

In 2023, the cumulative value of swaps executed on the DEX-platform Uniswap reached $454 billion. February was a record month with $73 billion.

The total number of user trades amounted to 163 million.

During the year Uniswap recorded the onboarding of 2.89 million new wallets and the opening of 3.33 million liquidity positions by liquidity providers.

Among other achievements the team noted:

• the launch of the UniswapX liquidity aggregator;
• the development of the fourth version of the protocol;
• integration of new networks;
• the appearance of the app in stores for iOS and Android.

Since January the platform added support for 18 fiat currencies and 7 languages.

“We are focused on making DeFi accessible at all times and anywhere — for people around the world,” said the Uniswap developers.

Earlier, the exchange began charging a fee of 0.15% for a limited set of tokens. Experts saw in the move signs of centralisation.
