“The domains will provide our community with a digital identity so that users can log in to decentralized applications without revealing their personal information, and also carry out cryptocurrency transactions without long addresses,” said the vice president and head of the development department at Polygon Labs Sankt Shah.
Representatives of Unstoppable Domains said that their service is available for use in 750 applications, games and metaverses.
Sales of addresses will commence on March 16. The company will also auction premium-domain names, such as gamer.polygon.
In October 2022, the messaging app Telegram launched a marketplace for the sale of account identifiers. The service runs on the Telegram Open Network blockchain and accepts native TON tokens as payment. Earlier in March 2023, Polygon launched a service for identification in the Web3 space called Polygon ID. The initiative will allow blockchain applications to verify user data without revealing their personal information.
