US opens solar-powered Bitcoin mining center

The mining company Aspen Creek Digital Corporation (ACDC) opened a 6 MW data center in Colorado. reports The Block.

Equipment is powered by a 10 MW solar power plant.

The first hosting client of the facility was Galaxy Digital.

In the future, ACDC plans to open two more data centers in Texas — 30 MW and 150 MW. The first of them will be launched this summer and will accommodate 10,000 ASIC miners.

“Recent market volatility has underscored the importance of our core strategy: power control as the main contribution to Bitcoin mining,” said Alexandra DaCosta, CEO of ACDC.

According to her, this approach will help isolate mining operations from fluctuations in the electricity market.

Earlier, the Wyoming-based utility Black Hills Energy signed the first deal under a special tariff for miners.
