The United States Space Force (USSF) released a line of NFTs to mark the launch of the GPS III SV05 satellite. The collectibles are already available in the gaming metaverse Star Atlas, and on 17 June they will appear on the Ethernity Chain platform.
The fifth GPS III satellite is named after NASA’s first Moonwalker, Neil Armstrong. On 17 June, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launcher will place the spacecraft into orbit from Cape Canaveral.
According to the press release, the Armstrong Satellite NFT Launch with Space Force collection includes interactive NFTs with augmented reality features, developed by WorldwideXR and VueXR.
The lineup includes a digital model of the ARMSTRONG satellite, USSF patches and other commemorative imagery. One of them will be a 3D map of the 27 GPS satellites orbiting the Earth.
In the Star Atlas NFT metaverse, users receive in-game bonuses — patches for uniforms, an orbital satellite for the spacecraft and a vintage spacesuit.
Earlier, Ethernity Chain helped the owner of the major rights to Marilyn Monroe’s intellectual property — Authentic Brands Group — to immortalise the star’s legacy in the form of an NFT.
