US to convene 30 countries to tackle illicit cryptocurrency use.

The United States will hold a meeting with representatives of 30 countries focused on joint efforts to combat cybercrime and illicit use of cryptocurrency. This was stated by U.S. President Joe Biden.

The specific countries involved were not named.

The coalition of countries will also focus on advancing 5G technology, safeguarding supply chains, and managing the “risks and opportunities” of quantum computing and artificial intelligence.

Earlier, in the wake of several cyberattacks on major American companies, the Biden administration called tracking cryptocurrency transactions one of the possible measures to combat ransomware.

According to reports in September, the United States is preparing a package of measures aimed at countering cryptocurrency payments to ransomware operators.
