
User regains access to $4 million worth of Bitcoin
One Reddit user regained access to a wallet containing 127 BTC that had been lost for several years. According to a говорится в сообщении in the r/Bitcoin subreddit.
The post’s author, going by the handle BitcoinHolderThankU, earned the bitcoins in 2011-2012 by watching videos and completing tasks, but lost the private keys to the wallet. Access was regained only in December 2020.
“For the entire following week I was figuring out how to safely and reliably withdraw such a large amount of Bitcoin,” wrote BitcoinHolderThankU.
He sold 127 BTC through an OTC platform at a price of $33,439 per coin. The commission was 0.15%, and net profit was $4.24 million. Part of the funds will be invested in shares of companies in the S&P 500, and he will continue to ‘live an ordinary life’.
As a reminder, on January 8 Bitcoin established an all-time high, surpassing the $41,000 mark.
