
Uzbekistan Warns Hamster Kombat Players of Arrest and Fines
Players of Hamster Kombat in Uzbekistan face potential penalties if they convert in-game currency to fiat through cryptocurrency exchanges. This warning comes from local media, citing government authorities.
In Uzbekistan, the illegal acquisition, sale, or exchange of cryptocurrencies is prohibited. Such activities are punishable by up to 15 days of administrative arrest or a fine ranging from 20 to 30 BCV.
According to a review of court records by local media, at least 12 individuals have been prosecuted in Uzbekistan over the past month for violating cryptocurrency regulations. All received administrative arrests or fines. Most defendants were trading on the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, which lacks a license in the country.
Launched in March, the Hamster Kombat game on Telegram is rapidly gaining popularity. According to the project’s internal statistics, the number of players is around 100 million.
Previously, the cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin announced the pre-market of the in-game token HMSTR. Trading is scheduled to begin on June 17.
Earlier in June, Uzbek law enforcement arrested a student for selling Notcoin.
