Venezuela Blocks Access to Binance, Social Network X, and Other Services

Venezuelan authorities have restricted access to Binance, social network X, and several other online services amid unrest following the presidential elections on July 28. Representatives of the platform assured users that their funds remain secure.

“We are closely monitoring the situation to resolve it as best and as quickly as possible,” the company assured.

On August 9, the anti-censorship organization VE sin Filtro warned of a DNS block on Binance, affecting the functionality of its website and mobile application.

This occurred a day after President Nicolás Maduro’s order to the telecommunications regulator Conatel to ban access to X in the country for ten days.

VE sin Filtro recommended using VPN services.

In August 2024, OKX denied targeted blocking of clients from the CIS. Representatives of the exchange responded to claims by the author of the Telegram channel “Tears of Satoshi,” Rafael Manvelyan, who faced restrictions on his account.
