
Vitalik Buterin donates 99 ETH to Turkey-Syria earthquake victims
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin отправил 99 ETH (~$152,000 at the rate at the time of writing) to the address of the non-profit organization Ahbap, which is collecting funds for relief for those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
The wallet, labeled Etherscan as Ahbap Yardım / Earthquake Support, accepts donations in ERC-20 tokens. As of writing, the assets held at the address are valued at ~$2.2 million.
The majority comes from USDT ($890,650), Ethereum ($618,000) and USDC ($410,000).
According to Ahbap’s official site, the organization собрала over $4.2 million in cryptocurrencies. According to Nansen, more than $1.2 million has been received from transfers on the Avalanche network, around $892,000 on BNB Chain.

According to latest data, the disaster has claimed the lives of more than 25,000 people. In Turkey alone, more than 80,000 people have been injured. In terms of casualties, the earthquake sequence has been the deadliest since 2010.
As reported, crypto companies and exchanges announced initiatives, oriented toward helping those affected by the disaster.
