Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, is the largest holder of Shiba Inu (SHIB), a clone of the meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin. In his public wallet, 505 trillion SHIB are held — more than 50% of the one quadrillion tokens.
With the price of Shiba Inu at $0.000026 at the time of writing, Buterin’s holdings are worth more than $13 billion.
Buterin’s coins are not counted toward SHIB’s circulating trading volume on market-data aggregators. According to CoinMarketCap, the project has 394 trillion SHIB.
The developers stated in the white paper that sending the tokens to the Ethereum co-founder’s wallet burned them.
In total, Buterin’s wallet contains more than 1,000 tokens. In terms of value, the top holdings are Akita Inu ($606 million), Dogelon ($265 million) and HuskyToken ($20 million).
Earlier, the price of Shiba Inu reached a new high, briefly hitting $0.000033. The token has been listed on Binance and Crypto.com. Over the past seven days, the cryptocurrency rose by 1,476.79%, according to CoinMarketCap.
Back on May 3, 2021, Buterin joined the ranks of billionaires after Ethereum reached the $3,000 mark.
