Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has stated that the technology known as PeerDAS will be a crucial component for scaling the network. It will be included in the upcoming Fusaka update.
Fusaka will fix this.

PeerDAS will enable nodes to verify block data availability without downloading it in full. Nodes will receive small fragments and use erasure coding to reconstruct the remaining information. Buterin described this approach as unique.
For certain operations in the initial version of PeerDAS, full data will still be required. However, only one honest node will be needed for this, making the system resilient to attacks.
The discussion began after analyst hildobby reported a record in the Ethereum network—six BLOBs per block. These data packets appeared in the Dencun update to reduce transaction costs in L2 networks.

According to hildobby, the BLOB space is being utilized by the Base and World networks. Together, L2 solutions pay about $200,000 per week in fees to the main network, although many BLOBs remain partially empty.
Buterin noted that the number of large binary data objects will be gradually increased to test the system. In the long term, even L1 transaction data could be moved into BLOBs.
The Fusaka update for the Ethereum mainnet is scheduled for December 3.
