Wasabi Wallet team to simplify anonymous Bitcoin transactions with 2.0

The Wasabi Wallet team announced the development of a 2.0 version focused on Bitcoin wallet anonymity. It is designed to simplify confidential transactions by automating mixing using CoinJoin technology.

According to the developers, the option to use CoinJoin independently may remain for experienced users.

The new WabiSabi protocol for mixing with a centralized coordinator will increase speed and reduce the cost of confidential transactions. It will also lay the groundwork for in-CoinJoin payments and the ability to combine with other technologies. Details were not disclosed.

The Wasabi 2.0 user interface will change.

The team believes the most realistic release window for the new version is nine to fourteen months.

Earlier in November, a hacker who breached the KuCoin cryptocurrency exchange in September moved part of the bitcoins through the Wasabi wallet.

In July, Wasabi Wallet was used by attackers who managed to compromise numerous Twitter accounts.

In October, Europol identified Wasabi bitcoin wallets as a key threat in the darknet.
