Roscosmos has begun operating the IP Guard service on the Waves Enterprise blockchain platform. It enables detecting violations of intellectual property rights of organisations in the space and aerospace sector.

ForkLog, speaking on behalf of Waves Enterprise, said the solution would help businesses reduce the costs of detecting violations and gathering evidentiary material.

Rightsholders’ specialists receive information about violations to take appropriate measures: halting the violation, determining the extent of damages and potential compensation, and initiating legal proceedings.

‘When the evidentiary base is used by the copyright holder’s lawyers, the smart contract transfers the reward to the violator in the form of tokens or issues an electronic certificate in his name, giving the right to receive the reward in non-monetary form’, said Igor Kuzmichev, Commercial Director of Waves Enterprise.

IP Guard is aimed at patent researchers, patent attorneys, lawyers, and concerned citizens who can help rights holders shorten the time and costs of detecting violations.

The service is provided as a website, with a mobile app to be developed later.
\n
‘For now IP Guard is focused only on means of individualisation, but in future versions it is planned to expand the scope of objects to 3D models, [simple_tooltip content=’информационная модель зданий и сооружений’]BIM[/simple_tooltip] and more’, added Waves Enterprise.

Following the pilot in Roscosmos, the service will be refined. In the future, any legitimate rights holder of IP assets will be able to connect to the system.

The IP Guard developers also plan to collaborate with banks to make monetary payouts.
\n
A full launch of the site is expected by mid-summer.
\n
Earlier the Waves.tech sold an NFT at the highest price among similar deals outside the Ethereum blockchain. The digital duck Perfection, created by Waves founder Sasha Ivanov, was purchased for 1 million USDN.
