Wealthy clients show interest in cryptocurrencies at Swiss bank Vontobel
The CEO of Swiss private bank Vontobel, Zeno Staub, in интервью Bloomberg said that some wealthy clients are interested in transferring part of their assets into cryptocurrencies.
But, according to him, the institution limits its activities with digital assets, supporting a few of the largest ones.
“We offer our clients some cryptocurrencies, which we consider a safe, convenient and easy-to-use way to access them. They value this and allocate a portion of their wealth to them,” said Staub.
However, he believes that the technology underlying such assets has a much greater significance for transforming finance than its individual applications.
“We believe that blockchain is the logical consequence of the broader trend toward securitization, because it is the only available technology that can create trust without a central counterparty,” said Zeno Staub, CEO of Vontobel.
Back in 2019, the bank launched a custody solution for digital assets called Digital Asset Vault.
