WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to release NFT collection

Digital artist Pak announced a collaboration with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to launch a line of NFTs called Censored.

The collection launch is planned for February 7. The project will consist of two parts: a limited-edition NFT with a dynamic image and an open edition of assets in which anyone can participate.

In WikiLeaks, announcing the collaboration, they posted on Twitter an image captioned “one thousand.”

Assange’s brother Gabriel Shipton told Decrypt that the proceeds would go to support the Wau Holland Foundation. The organization raises donations for WikiLeaks.

“They support freedom of expression and, with their moral courage, defend Julian Assange,” he said.

Since 2012, Assange has been charged in the United States with conspiring to obtain and disclose information that constitutes state secrets. Since 2019 he has been held in a British prison, facing possible extradition to the United States.

As a reminder, in January the combined NFT trading volume reached a record $6.86 billion.
