Williston administration installs Bitcoin ATM at Williston Basin International Airport
The authorities of the city of Williston in North Dakota (USA) заключили соглашение with the cryptocurrency ATM operator Coin Cloud. The company installed a terminal at the Williston Basin International Airport.
“The initiative will familiarise the public with cryptocurrencies and draw attention to them. It is also a proactive step in creating a digital ecosystem. […] Even though we are a small rural community, our actions could pave the way for other government and commercial organisations that wish to follow our example,” said the city’s chief financial officer Hercules Cummings.
Coin Cloud terminals allow buying and selling for fiat for more than 40 different cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Cardano and Ethereum. Users can also withdraw cash from their digital wallets.

The Williston administration emphasised that it does not custody cryptocurrencies and does not participate in processing transactions. The terminal is fully operated by its operator — Coin Cloud.
Coin Cloud operates more than 4,000 cryptocurrency ATMs in the United States and Brazil. The company’s product ecosystem includes a non-custodial wallet, a mobile app and an OTC trading platform.
Earlier in May, the Williston administration announced a partnership with the BitPay processing service. Residents were given the opportunity to pay utility bills with bitcoin.
