Worldcoin Foundation Unveils Developer Preview of World Chain
On the eve of the World Chain mainnet launch, the Worldcoin Foundation has introduced a developer preview of its L2 solution. This was reported by The Block.
The devnet allows a limited number of participants to explore, test, and provide feedback before the main network goes live this summer.
Among the features is the ability to configure deployment parameters before migrating over 10 million Worldcoin users from the OP Mainnet.
According to the team, the open-source public World Chain will be governed by its community. The L2 solution is expected to be a component of the so-called Superchain.
Currently, World Chain is supported by Alchemy, Safe, and Elliptic.
According to a press release, in the coming weeks, the Worldcoin Foundation will announce an expansion of its network of partners, including additional node providers, analytics firms, wallet infrastructure providers, blockchain explorers, and cross-chain solutions.
The non-profit organization reports that the project’s share of total transactions on the OP Mainnet has grown to 50%, and at peak times exceeded 80%.
The Worldcoin Foundation predicts that World Chain will be able to handle approximately twice the TPS volume of the OP Mainnet before load begins to impact fee markets.
Back in July, the company behind Worldcoin, Tools for Humanity, hired four senior former executives from Apple, Google, Meta, Tesla, and X for leadership positions.
